Third in Barcelona

A third place in Barcelona was a good result but an unlucky full course yellow compromised the race when the team was ready to battle for a victory.

Start of the 4 Hour of Barcelona

When the APR number 47 car exited the pits on its second stop, a full course yellow was called which provided other teams with a ‘free’ pit stop and sent the number 47 to last in its category. From there the comeback started.

The team chose to fire the majority of its new tyres in the middle part of the event in order to catch up as much as possible. When Alex jumped in towards the end, a short pit stop without a tyre change sent him into third and he was faced with having to battle with three other cars that had new tyres for the race to the end.

Alex pushed incredibly hard and was on the ragged edge for his two stints. Ultimately he was able to hang on to third, an amazing result given the circumstances!
