In a race that seemed to have an endless series of safety cars and full course yellows, Alex, John Falb and James Allen finished third with the first three cars crossing the line in under two seconds. This is Alex’s first podium since switching from singles seaters.
After starting fourth on the grid John managed the first laps well where the safety car incidents interrupted the event a number of times. Alex then jumped in and put in a series of very fast laps to catch the AF Corse car ahead by the time he finished his stint after approximately 80 minutes.
James Allen then brought the car home in difficult circumstances as cars around him were on different strategies and he did a great job to be within a couple of seconds of the two leaders by the time he crossed the finish line.
After a difficult and unlucky season start everyone hopes this result is a springboard to a more successful second half of the season.
