European Le Mans Championship under way!

Over the Easter weekend the European Le Mans Series had its first event at the Paul Ricard circuit in France. The key take-away from the weekend for Alex is that he’s with a great team that can compete for wins!

The event had a setback in qualifying however which forced the team to start from the very back of the field, behind all three categories participating. It was always going to be a big ask to come back from there but a stunning first stint by John Falb got the car back behind the LMP2 pack and he started passing the back markers. His storming performance came to and end when overtaking another car that failed to see him and caused a spin.

Alex and his manager, Horia Totu

John pitted and Alex jumped in the car while the team did a fantastic job to repair the car quickly although the car went down 6 laps. Alex went out and demonstrated excellent pace for over an hour before his front left hand tyre exploded down the Mistral straight. Alex was able to control the car and box. James Allen jumped in and completed the race at an excellent pace.

Despite finishing 6 laps down due to the repair, all indicators suggest that the trio can expect a good result at Imola on the 15th May and get their championship campaign started in earnest.
