In Monza Alex was doing very well in race 1 when he had an incredibly bad crash on exit of the parabolica with only 4 laps to go.

Alex walked away although this was mostly an instinctive action given that he had a fractured spine.

Alex was initially treated at the on-track clinic where he was stablilised and initial checks made on his health. He was then sent via ambulance to the Ospedale San Gerardo near the Monza circuit.

Five days later Alex was released from Ospedale San Gerardo and he returned home to Tasmania where he is resting and looking forward to recovering from his injuries that will keep him from racing for the remainder of 2019.

Alex and the team of people around him would like to take the opportunity to thank the thousands of well wishers that wrote to Alex encouraging him through a difficult time. Alex can’t wait to get back into racing.
