Silverstone, 4th Round

Silverstone threw many challenges at Alex and he deserved far more than the single point from race 1.

Despite having very good speed in qualifying Alex made a small error in the last sector which in this category can cost you many grid positions. In fact Alex qualified 21st after demonstrating to be capable of a top 10 start.

The team’s speed was there for all to see when he stormed through the field in race 1 making up position after position with some great passes. With only 2 laps to go Alex managed to pass Yifei and got on the tail of Beckman, a championship favourite. On his very last lap Alex passed Beckman and got himself one championship point. The great comeback was enjoyed by all although all thoughts were to what might have been possible with a better starting position.

Alex’s great pace together with starting 10th on the grid gave everyone hope for a good result in race 2. Alex’s start was good and he settled into 10th place, on the tail of Jake Hughes. On lap 2 Alex made a move on the outside of Hughes who gave Alex no room. He squeezed until Alex had no more racing room and they touched. A bent steering arm forced Alex out of the race. A disappointing manoeuvre by Hughes and outcome for Alex.

The team deserve more and they will be back fighting in Hungary!
